He was predeceased by: his parents, James Bernard and Dorothy Bernard; his daughter Tara Montgomery; his siblings, Herman Bernard and Ann Bernard; his parents-in-law, Earl Darby Sr. and Alberta Darby; and his brothers-in-law, Earl Jr., James Sr. and Clarence Darby.
He is survived by: his wife Gloria Darby Bernard; his daughters, Toni Bernard and Natasha Harris; his sons-in-law, John and Gregory Montgomery; his grandchildren, Tyren, Kuron Montgomery, Jerry and Karle Harris; his siblings, Elizabeth Bradley (Tim), Norell Bernard and Samuel Bernard; and his siblings-in-law, Iona, Joyce, Gail, Edith, Rene and John Darby. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Ray Ave. Baptist Church (4712 Ray Ave, New Orleans, LA 70126). A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
