We announce the death of Arthur Michael Gabriel (New Orleans, Louisiana), who passed away on September 23, 2026, at the age of 79. He was predeceased by: his wife Sheila Ghorum Gabriel; his parents, Arthur Gabriel and Norma Jones Gabriel; his sisters, June Marie, Agnes Yolanda and Theo Claire; and his child Micah Anderson.
He is survived by: his children, Arthur M. Gabriel Jr. (Valencia "Renea") and Dr. Jeanene Gabriel Smith (Xavier); his siblings, Carol Ann Gabriel, Gary Paul Gabriel, Larry G. Gabriel and Angela Henderson; and his grandchildren, Arthur M. Bailey, Jared R. Bailey, Claudia A. Haynes, Clyde Anthony Haynes, Xavier Smith Jr. and Sydney Smith. He is also survived by loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and family friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Murray Henderson Funeral Home (1209 Teche St, New Orleans, LA 70114). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
