She was predeceased by: her parents, Mary Alice Slann and Chalmers Slann; and her siblings, Sonny Slann and George Chissell. She is survived by: her children, Myron Sterling (Yolanda), Ron Sterling, Karletta Sterling and Paula Carmouche; her grandsons, Carl Sterling (April), Kobe Sterling and Myron Williams; and her child Caleigh Marie Sterling. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
