He was predeceased by: his parents, William "Billy" Hunter and Olivia "Dallas" Hunter; his former wife Irma "Dean" Hunter; and his siblings, Henry James, Helen Baptiste, Robert Sr., Newel Sr., Johnnie Sr., Doris Tolliver, Levin Sr., Olevia Lewis, Glynn Sr. and Richard Hunter.

He is survived by: his wife Irma Dean Daniels; his children, Desmond Sr. (Judy), Darilyn, Dhana, Damion and Mark Hunter; his grandchildren, Monica Davis, Desmond Jr. (Dara), Danae, Colton and Chloe Hunter; his great grandchild Elijah Jones; and his brother Carl Hunter Sr.. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends.
