He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel N. Hughes, Sr. and Theresa F. Hughes; his wife Charlene P. Hughes; his siblings, Joseph D. Hughes and Dorothy H. Hartenstein; his son Kevin J. Hughes; and his stepsons, Barry C Parta and David T Parta.
He is survived by: his children, Danielle H. Sharai (Stephen) and Daniel N. Hughes III; his stepdaughter Allison B. Parta; his grandchildren, Blake S. Sharai (Angele), Cole N. Sharai (Mandy) and Alexis H. Fox (Jon); his stepgrandchildren, David Jr. and Alyssa Parta; his great grandchildren, Lily E. Sharai and Jack J. Fox; his stepgreat-granddaughter Tessa Parta; and the mother of his children Carol D. Hughes. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the L. A. Muhleisen & Son Funeral Home (2607 Williams Blvd, Kenner, LA 70062). A prayer will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the L. A. Muhleisen & Son Funeral Home (2607 Williams Blvd, Kenner, LA 70062).
