He was predeceased by : his parents, Daniel Williams-Smith and Bertha Williams-Smith. He is survived by : his wife Iris Smith; his children, Shannon Magee (Eric Sr.), Tracey Gamble (Kristal) and Ahmand Salaam; his sisters, Loretta Felder (Olden Sr.) of Tyler, TX and Joyce Walker (Ronnie) of Liberty, TX; and his siblings-in-law, Margaret Smith of Katy, TX, Linda Squire of New Orleans, LA, Clarence Squire of Pontiac, MI and Lawrence Squire (Diana) of Plano, TX.. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Monday, April 29th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Boyd Family Funeral Home (5001 Chef Menteur Hwy, New Orleans, LA 70126). A celebration of life was held on Monday, April 29th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
