In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Edgar Bright leaves behind and his impact on the lives of his loved ones. Though Edgar Bright may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the memories held dear by his family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar Bright and Josephine Jamison Dixey; his daughter Janey O'Neal Dixey; and his sister Delane Dixey Taylor. He is survived by: his son Edgar Miles Dixey of New Orleans; his siblings, Diane Dixey, Deborah Dixey, Deirdre Dixey Cootes (Randy), Minge Dixey (Tami) and Devin Dixey; and also Tammye Jane Hoover Dixey of Natchez, MS. He is also survived by his many brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, friends, and especially his best friend.
Visitation was held on Thursday, August 14th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home (5100 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70124).
