He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Douglas Payton and Elizabeth Hockaday; his wife Claudette Hockaday; his children, Bridgett Sullivan, Edison Hockaday, Jr. and Kenneth DeGruy; and his grandchildren, Jude, Jair Sullivan, Marquis and Eddie Hockaday, III. He was also cherished by six great grandchildren.
