He was predeceased by: his parents, Garner H. Tullis and Mary Lee Brown Tullis; his former wife Deborah Beaird Tullis; and his stepson Michael W. Helms. He is survived by: his wife Judith T. Tullis; his children, Ruffin Chevaleau (Rob), Cassady (Juan Urista), Mahon and Eli Watson Tullis, Jr. (Taylor); his grandchildren, Liza Avery (Sean) and Eli Watson, III (Tina); his child Garner Hugh Tullis II (Mary); his granddaughters, Gretchen Cannon (Kyle), Molly, Marilee (Stephen), Jane and Rachael; his son Wesley L. F. Tullis (Sandi); his grandchildren, Sarah Larsen (Stephen), Anna, Wesley (Sophie), Mary Andrews (Tyler), Isaac (Elizabeth) and Daniel Eli; his children, D. Ashbrooke Tullis and Rachael Tullis Gambel (Christian); his granddaughter Grace; his stepson Stephen W. Helms (Kathy); and his stepgrandchildren, Hayden and Emma. He is also survived by six children, nineteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that gifts be made in Eli's memory to the Jefferson Scholars Program at the University of Virginia.
