It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Floy AMETHUST Batiste of New Orleans, Louisiana, who passed away on November 30, 2025, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Joseph Q. Batiste; her daughter Janelle Sanders; her parents, Morris K. Roberts, Sr. and Gertrude Brooks Roberts; and her siblings, Adlay Roberts, Morris Roberts, Marion Gooden and Helois Blair.
She is survived by: her child Athalia Williams; and her grandchildren, Bernell Charles, Rhett Charles (Tanya), Floyd Williams, Sr. (Lashanda), Edward Williams, Jr. (Chantel), Chanel Armant and Oran Williams (Shontel). She is also survived by 28 great grandchildren, 38 great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
