He is survived by: his wife Lena Owens Melerine; his children, James Melerine, Jr. (Karen), Lona Cook (Charlie), Cheryl Melerine, Timothy Melerine (Alisha) and Lance Melerine; his grandchildren, Celeste, Holden, Travis Melerine, Corey, Dillon, Sarah Cook, Trysta Smith, Aubree Newcomb, Cameron, Timothy, Jr., Clare Melerine, Laken and Lathen Melerine; and his sister Catherine "Dudy" Menesses (late Clarence "Beyo"). He is also survived by loving great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
