He was predeceased by: his wife Edna McMains Ortego; his daughter Peggy Smith (late Roy); his parents, Ethel Barbay and Glynn Ortego; and his granddaughter Melissa Smith.
He is survived by: his daughter Jill Weeks (Ronnie); his grandsons, Jim and Rory; and his great grandchildren, Corbett and Logan.
