The memory of James Patrick McEvoy of New Orleans, Louisiana, who passed away on November 3, 2025 at the age of 64, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. Though James may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those James touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James B. McEvoy and Catherine M. Black. He is survived by: his wife Jody Barranco; his son Shane Elijah Reuben-McEvoy of New Orleans; and his sisters, Mary Beth Miniter of Roswell, GA and Deborah A. Herndon of Lebanon, NH. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 9th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Jacob Schoen and Sons Funeral Home (3827 Canal St, New Orleans, LA 70119). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 9th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A reception will be held on Sunday, November 9th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the same location.
