He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Cocchiara and Rose DiLeo Cocchiara. He is survived by: his siblings, Joseph Cocchiara and Leanna Smith; his daughters, Wendy (Randy Tannehill), Betsy (Paul Legendre) and Julie (Marty DeRouen); and his grandchildren, Dr. Katye Gayle (Christopher Eldredge), Taylor Lee (Heather Lee), Father Andy DeRouen, Quincy Gayle, Ellen Grimshaw, Emily Saltzman (Hunter Saltzman) and Avery Grimshaw. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren; two nieces; and numerous cousins.
A Mass will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 at 10:00 AM and on Wednesday, November 26th 2025 at 1:30 PM. A burial will be held on Monday, November 17th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Lake Lawn Park (5100 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70124).
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Cathedral of St. John Berchmans or another charity.
