He was predeceased by: his parents, James Johnston Young, Sr. and Edith Roth Young; his wife Genevieve Curott Young; his daughter Peggy Young Condon; and his siblings, James Young, II (Josephine Ramoneda), Imelda Young Kuntz (Thornton) and Edith "Bessie" Young Kinler (Harold).
He is survived by: his children, Christopher Joseph Young (Susan) and Linda Louise Young; his grandchildren, Patrick Condon, Colin Young (Diana Kim), Mary Caitlin Young, Sarah Clingenpeel (Jim Miller) and Zachary Clingenpeel; and his stepgrandchildren, Joshua Clingenpeel (Jisun Yang) and Hannah Clingenpeel (Jake Neupert). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
