She was predeceased by: her husband Joseph Eugene Downey; her sister Audrey Saltalamacchia (Anthony); and her brother-in-law Norman Leche. She is survived by: her children, Janet M. Downey, Cheryl D. LaBorde (Gary) and Edward J. Downey (Carolyn); her grandchildren, John Stovall (April), Michael Stovall, Kaitlyn Tykhonovyska (Gregorii), Lauren D. Sanchez, Elizabeth Downey, Phillip LaBorde (Anne-Marie) and Patrick LaBorde; her great grandchildren, Keagan Downey, Joseph Stovall, Hailey LaBorde and James LaBorde; and her sister Althea Leche.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church (4337 Sal Lentini Pkwy, Kenner, LA 70065). A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
