It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mae Ancar of New Orleans, Louisiana, who passed away on March 22, 2024, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her husband John Romano Ancar; her parents, Mary Ellen Lewis and Alfred Edmonds; her great grandchild Jarid Montgomery Jr.; and her siblings-in-law, Verdun Woods, Alvin Ancar (Marion), Bienville Ancar (Helen), Earl Ancar (Shirley), Richard Ancar (Ethel), Elsie Derbigny (Blaine), Mildred Seiss (Carl) and Noella Wiltz (Leo).

She is survived by : her children, John R. Ancar, Jr. (Angelina), Thaddeus J. Ancar, David M. Ancar, Sr. (Allison), Paul G. Ancar, Majella Ancar Sutton (Elliott), Maureen Ancar-Angel (Xavier) and Michael Ancar; her grandchildren, Melissa Marrero (Corey), Nicole Barthelemy (DaRon), Jeanne Renee, David Ancar Jr., Cydney Moret (Ryan), Jeremy, Courtney, Casey, Cassidey Ancar, Megan, Ashley, Lacey Sutton, Caitlin Barnes, Marc Barnes Jr. and Grace Angel; her sibling Vertner Woods; and her siblings-in-law, Gloria Flot (Anthony), Elenora Ancar and Dorothy Williams (Riley). She is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
