She was predeceased by: her parents, Alvin Bernard Cureaux, Sr. and Willa Mae (Munson Sims Sr.); her brother Keith Anthony Cureaux; her sons, Kendrick Cureaux, Sr. and Alvin Cureaux; her grandchildren, Champagne Williams and Kendrick Cureaux, Jr.; and her stepgrandson Brandon Wright.

She is survived by: her husband Bradley Shorter (Brad); her stepdaughter Ericka Wright (Marcellus Lee); her daughter-in-law Maria Cureaux; her grandchildren, Clarial, Lionel, Kendelry and Alize; her stepgrandchildren, Tyreese, Brittany, Tyler, Ma'kayla, Ma'kyla and Champagne; her siblings, Alvin Cureaux Jr. (Sylvia), Kimberly Cureaux and Vondakay Hardin; her stepsiblings, Deidre, Samatha and Munson Sims; her siblings-in-law, Troylynn Lawrence, Debra Holloway, Beverly Janney, Portia Thomas, Karen Herenginton (Bill) and Gregory Shorter (Denise); her godmother Charlene Banks; her goddaughters, Shaquilla Nedell (CJ) and Daja Alexander; and her friends, Jacqueline Johnson and Beatrice Alexander. She is also survived by loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
