He was predeceased by: his parents, Joan Garon Smith and H. Lewis Smith; Gary L. Smith of Scottsdale, Arizona.. He is survived by: his wife Susan Barrett Smith; his sister Amanda Smith Short (Kelsey Short) of Baton Rouge; his uncle Newman G. Garon (Jane Odom) of Hammond; and his siblings-in-law, Cate Barrett Long (Rick Long) of Las Vegas and John W. Barrett (Toni Barrett) of Bahama. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and grandnephews.
