He was predeceased by: his wife Sandra Elaine Hughes Collins; his son Nathaniel Collins, Jr.; his parents, Henry Collins, Jr. and Rutha Mae Johnson Collins; his brothers, Clifford, Earl and Will Collins; his parents-in-law, Joseph, Sr. and Ruth Ella Anderson Hughes; and his siblings-in-law, Harold Lloyd, Irma Henry, Joseph, Jr., Melvin, Calvin, Henry, Jerry, Philip Hughes, Sr., Augustine Butler and Joyce McGinnis.
He is survived by: his son Kenneth Collins; his siblings, Thelma Turnbull, McClain (Sally), Herbert, Carl and Calvert Collins (Sharon Mitchell); and his siblings-in-law, Imogene Collins, Gail Hughes, Richard Lloyd (Brenda), Peter (Cisglenda), Vera, Rodney Hughes, Sr. (Nelda), Evelyn Peterson and Annie Mae Schaeffer. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
