She was predeceased by: her sisters, Ruth Veal and Rosemary Sorrell (family: Buena Vista); her husband Frank Joshua Jr.; her son Lynwood Joshua; and her grandson Mark Johnson.
She is survived by: her children, Sigmond Joshua (Carol), Chief Justice Bernette Johnson and Frank Frederick Joshua (Rita); and her grandchildren, Glenn Joshua (Jennifer), Tonia Ricketts, Renee Deshommes (Jacques), David Johnson, Kenneth Joshua (Claudia), Judge Rachael Johnson, RaShonda Joshua-Tibbs and Antualisa Johnson. She is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who were touched by her strength.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Greater St. Stephen Full Gospel Baptist Church (5600 Read Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70127). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
