It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Patricia L. Sugar (New Orleans, Louisiana), who passed away at the age of 82, on October 17, 2025. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
As we bid Patricia farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Patricia is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ruth Cenas Longo and Joseph Longo; and her significant other John J. "Johnny" Sugar. She is survived by: her brother Dr. Salvador Eugene Longo, Sr. (Pamela); and her sibling's children, Sherri, Debbie, Michele and Salvador, Jr.. She is also survived by numerous great-nieces and nephews; and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home (5100 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70124). A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location. A committal service will be held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, in honor of Pat's lifelong devotion to her faith, the family requests donations to Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Hammond and, in memory of her compassion for animals (especially her dogs), consider a donation to a local animal rescue or humane society.
