It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Reginald Harris of New Orleans, Louisiana, who passed away on September 17, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Harris, Sr. and Dorothy Edmonson Harris; and his siblings, Joyce Harris Guy, Ernestine Harris Jackson, Henry Harris, Jr., Herbert Harris and Charles Harris.
He is survived by: his wife Merle Ann Triche Harris; his daughters, Dr. Leslie M. Harris, Jennifer H. Jones (Shane), Regina Bartholomew-Woods (Jimmie) and Rachel T. Harris; his grandsons, David Bartholomew, IV, Ryan Jones, Reginald Bartholomew, Devin Jones and Jimmie Woods, Jr.; his siblings, Melvin Harris, John Harris, Lionel Harris, Betty Ann Harris and Barbara Ann Harris; and his goddaughters, Tiffany Benjamin and Kristen Howard. He is also survived by nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church (5621 Elysian Fields Ave, New Orleans, LA 70122). A prayer was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 from 10:45 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location. A celebration of life was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
To honor his request, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to his beloved alma mater, Xavier University of Louisiana.
