He was predeceased by: his parents, Marie Wilbur McCurdy and William Edward McCurdy; his son Richard William McCurdy, Jr.; and his sister Patti McCurdy Johnson. He is survived by: his wife Cindy; his daughters, Barbara M. Bagdasarian (Rainer) and Melissa M. Ledesma (Rickey); his granddaughters, Brittany Nunenmacher, Julia McCurdy Easley, Hailey McCurdy Lacava, Emily McCurdy, Romi Bagdasarian and Ava Bagdasarian; his great grandchildren, Analaina Martindale, Olivia Martindale, Caine Lacava and Caiden Lacava; and his sisters, Peggy McCurdy of Palo Alto and Anne Frank (Roger) of Davenport. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
