She was predeceased by: her husband Robert Brooks, Jr.; her parents, Wallace Ragas and Irma Ragas; and her siblings, Wallace Ragas, Jr., John Ragas, Wayne Ragas and Wanda Lawrence.
She is survived by: her children, Thasia (Philip), Chadwick and Melanie; her grandchildren, Nataniel, Tynisha, Sasha, Ashley, David, Sarah, Ishmael, Philip II, Mia, Brandon and Taylor; her sisters, Edith (Desi), Vera (late Joseph Sr.) and Mattie (Ephraim); and her siblings-in-law, Louise (late Wallace), Minola (late Jake), Helen (late Jules) and Silva (late Kelly). She is also survived by 16 great grandchildren, 1 great great granddaughter, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
