He was predeceased by: his parents, James Jacob and Ottomese Ricks-Coleman; and his siblings, Charles Ricks and Cynthia Jackson. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Ann Alverez Ricks; his children, Robin Lenore Pennicooke (Dwight), Keyonne Yonkell Spencer (James) and Branden Lee Ricks; his grandchildren, Mackenzie Janell, Maci Abigail McGaffie and Zion Ja'Ron Ricks; and his sisters, Mary Jacob and Elizabeth Spencer.
