He is survived by: his mother Yvonne Gaines Johnson; his wife Sandra Bridges; his children, Ranija India Gaines, Gekeva Haymond (Jayson) and Gerald Cowart, III; his grandsons, Rogers Gaines, IV, Reid Alexander Gaines and Ezra Gaines; his siblings, Vanessa Caliste Swafford (Gregory), Forest, Sr. (Nedra) and Joshua Gaines; his cousin Cephas Williams (Yulanda); and his close friends, Pavia Broussard, Marlon Bradford (Angela) and Earnest "Skeeter" Bailey. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
