She was predeceased by: her husband Paul Barriere, Jr.; her son Paul Barriere III; her parents, Harrison McDowell and Odeal McDowell; and her siblings, Leonell McDowell, Clifford McDowell and Harrison.
She is survived by: her children, Pamela Barriere, Gregory Barriere, Gretchen Franklin, Paula Matthews (Brian), Sharon David (Kirk) and Jenell "Pippi" Anderson; and her siblings, Rev. Patrick McDowell, Joyce Recasner, James McDowell, Savannah McDowell and Deborah McDowell.
