She was predeceased by: her parents, John P. Vogt, Sr. and Thelma B. Vogt; her brother John P. Vogt, Jr.; her parents-in-law, Otto J. Rees and Catherine R. Rees; her siblings-in-law, Gladys K. Vogt, Mary R. Cornibè and Paul "Emmett" Cornibè; and her sibling's children, John P. Vogt, III and Lorah C. Lewis.
She is survived by: her husband Otto A. Rees; her son Michael A. Rees; her daughter-in-law Susan S. Rees; her granddaughter Michelle L. Rees; and her sibling's children, Timothy D. Vogt, Robert E. Cornibè, Jamie C. LeBlanc and Paula C. Duplantis. She is also survived by grandnieces and grandnephews, great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 3rd 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home (5100 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70124). A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, December 3rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A committal service was held on Wednesday, December 3rd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Lake Lawn Park (5454 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70124).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to SpayMart, Inc., P.O. Box 6493, Metairie, LA 70009 in memory of Thelma, who loved cats.
