With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Trace Randall Cates of New Orleans, Louisiana, born in Ocean Springs, Mississippi, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. He was predeceased by: his grandparents, James, Teresa Cates, Thomas and Charlotte Cash; and his aunt Arlene Cates.
He is survived by: his parents, Reid Cates (MaryJo) and Leslie Carol Cash; his sister Shannon Pope (Michael); his nephew Robert Reid; and his pets, Myu Myu Wahjean and Mister. He is also survived by aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 2nd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home - Ocean Springs (911 Porter Ave, Ocean Springs, MS 39564). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 2nd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Catholic Charities of South Mississippi, St. Vincent de Paul or Bridgehouse/Gracehouse in New Orleans.
