He was predeceased by : his parents, Harry Sluch and Ethel Sluch; and his siblings, Romalis Sluch, Winona Catchings and Betty Sluch.

He is survived by : his wife Orelia Scott Sluch; his nephew Juan Scott, Sr. (William); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Reginald Sluch and Charae Flemings; his siblings, Gloria Lee and Harry Sluch; his sisters-in-law, Brenda Sluch, Lilly Jarrow and Barbara Dupree; and also Orelia Scott Sluch. He is also survived by one son-in-law; August Flemings, a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at the Greater Liberty Baptist Church (1230 Desire St, New Orleans, LA 70117). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 at 9:30 AM at the same location.
