She was predeceased by : her parents, Fred Austin Gentry, Sr. and Cora Leigh Marlow Gentry; her son Johnny Smith; her siblings, Martha "Boots" Gentry and Fred; and her son Austin Gentry, Jr..

She is survived by : her children, Lynn Thompson (L. J.) of Saint Joseph and Charles Phillip Feldner (Debbie) of Vidalia; her sisters, Gwen "Lady" Tindell of Saint Joseph and Mary Ann Netterville Norris of Newellton, Louisiana.; and her grandchildren, Shannon Thompson Capdepon, Jeff Thompson and Shelia Smith Cannon. She is also survived by six great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
