She was predeceased by: her husband James Swanson Smith; her parents, Carles Mason and Ruby Mason; her sisters, Cora Gardner and Nadine Allen; and her nephew Jimmy Robinson.
She is survived by: her sisters, Nettie Robinson of Oak Grove, Louisiana and Mary Bolding Allen (Burnis) of Oak Grove, Louisiana; her brothers-in-law, Bill Allen and Joe Smith; and her close friend Bud Wynn. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
