He is survived by: his children, Jamie Wirth (William) of Killeen, Texas, David Herring (Celia) of Pilot Mountain and Mikeyy Herring of Walnut Cove; his daughter-in-law Dawn Lail of Walnut Cove; his sisters, Sandra Dickson of Sulphur and Shirley Sheaffer of Centreville, Maryland; and his grandchildren, Elizabeth Wirth, Myah Herring, Hailey Herring, James Herring Jr., Kolten Herring, Celest Herring and Saddie Herring. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
