It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Alice Guidry Hicks of Opelousas, Louisiana, who passed away on August 5, 2025, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Thomas Hicks, Sr.; her sons, Thomas Hicks, Jr., Charles Hicks and Larry Hicks; her granddaughter Charisse Guidry; her parents, Clem Guidry and Leola Perrio Guidry; her siblings, Howard Guidry, Louis Guidry, Ledie Marks, Lydia Riche and Emma Lee Gauthier; and her siblings-in-law, Johnny Hicks, Oliver Rabalais Lester Riche, Arthur Hicks, Louis Marks, Louis Gauthier, Wilfred Smith and Thelma Hicks (Bessie Condon).
She is survived by: her children, Nelson G. Hicks (Rose) of Opelousas and Barbara Hicks of Opelousas; her sister Laura Smith; her daughters-in-law, Debra Hicks and Freida Simon; her sister-in-law Margie Rabalais; her grandchildren, Thomas Hicks III, Reggie D. Pitre, Kurt Williamson, Willson "Will" Hicks, Gabe Hicks, Summer Hicks, Heather Hicks, Sammy Hicks and Johnny Guidry; her great grandchildren, Jonathon Guidry, Jacob Guidry, Julia Thompson, Lorryn Pitre, Maggie Williamson, Emmalee Williamson, Karter Williamson, Taylor Williamson, Carter Hicks and Paxton Hicks; and her great great grandchild Jessie Prudhomme.
