We announce the death of Arlene Marie Duplechien Richard of Opelousas, Louisiana, who passed away on September 10, 2026, at the age of 69. Arlene will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Leon Duplechien and Eurella Fontenot; and her siblings, Beverly Carriere, Rita Hargroder, Dale Joubert, Troy Duplechien and Michael Duplechien.
She is survived by: her sons, Kevin Dupre (Meagan) of Grandview and Kristopher Dupre of Arkansas; and her grandchildren, Samuel Dupre, Ansleigh Dupre, Sophie Dupre, Claire Dupre, Daphne Dupre and Olivia Dupre.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM and on Saturday, September 19th 2026 from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Sibille Funeral Home (2309 George Dr, Opelousas, LA 70570). A rosary will be held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 6:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the St. Bridget Catholic Church (3915 LA-35, Opelousas, LA 70570). A burial will be held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Bridget Cemetery (3915 LA-35, Opelousas, LA 70570).
