He is survived by: his sister Rosemary Lavis Powers; his children, Suzy Lavis Hufft (Patrick), Charles Edward Lavis, Jr., John Lawrence McKeever Lavis (Yvonne), William Clay Lavis and Sarah Lavis Carrington (David); his grandchildren, Parker, Sarah, Abby Hufft, Charlie, Rachel Lavis, Evangeline, Clay Lavis, Caroline and Lauren Carrington; and his great grandchild Rivers Hufft.
