She is survived by: her sons, Kendall Smith (Rhonda) of Opelousas and Joel Smith (Charlotte Johnson) of Opelousas; her grandchildren, Shayla Mouton, Edie Sollberger (Peter), Christa Klawinski (David), Alex Smith (Shelby), Anthony Smith (Brittany), Jarred Smith (Denyse) and Adam Smith (Madison); her great grandchildren, Lindsey Mouton, Lauren Mouton, Tynlee Smith, Lain Sugg, Drew Klawinski, Eli Smith, Oakland Smith, Iley Smith and Sawyer Sollberger; her great great grandchildren, Genevieve McRee and Eloise McRee; her siblings, Aby Lavergne (Sandra) and Germaine Guidry (Jack) of Sugarland, TX; and her sisters-in-law, Audrey Lavergne and Jerilyn Lavergne.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 at 8:00 AM at the Melancon Funeral Home (4708 I-49 Frontage Rd, Opelousas, LA 70570). A rosary was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church (2125 S Union St, Opelousas, LA 70570).
