He is survived by: his wife Erin Gaar; his son Jax Thomas Gaar; his parents, Steven H. Gaar (Jeannie) and Debra D. Fontenot; his brother Spencer Gaar; and his stepsiblings, Jeremy Ables (Amy Lynn) and Amy Brooke Munholland (Josh).
Visitation was held on Sunday, June 7th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Monday, June 8th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Melancon Funeral Home (4708 I-49 Frontage Rd, Opelousas, LA 70570). A rosary was held on Sunday, June 7th 2026 at 5:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, June 8th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Our Lady of Sacred Heart Catholic Church (114 Bienvenu St, Church Point, LA 70525).
