With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Emanus Washington (Opelousas, Louisiana), who passed away on August 5, 2025 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Emanus departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Emanus. Though Emanus may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was predeceased by: his mother Mary Hazel Johnwell Washington; and his siblings, Rodney Latour, Amos Washington, Paul Washington, Anna Lou Washington Vallier and Mary Washington.
He is survived by: his wife Gloria Ann Richard Washington of Opelousas, LA; his sons, Brian Washington of Opelousas, LA and Tony Busby of Opelousas, LA; his nephew Joseph Latour; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Andrea Guillory and Sandrea Platt. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
