It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Harry Joseph Roy Sr. (Opelousas, Louisiana), who passed away on May 22, 2025, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Roy and Isaure Devillier Roy; his former wife Margaret Theriot Roy; and his siblings, Rayfield Roy, Monroe Roy, Arthur "Nutsy" Lee Roy, Clayton "Day" Roy, Joseph Creighton "Toto" Roy, Marjorie Elaine "Totty" Roy and Arleen Rita "Sis" Roy Mistric.
He is survived by: his brother Michael Keith Roy of Port Barre, LA; his children, Jay Roy (Shelly) of Texas City, TX, Roberta Roy of Lake Charles and Lynda Roy of Lake Charles; his grandchildren, Coby Roy (MacKenzie), Kaleb Roy (Ashlyne), Niki McCormick, Jacque Mistric (Jenna), Chance Mistric (Kelli), Cicely Guidry (Cody) and Trent Hatcher; and his great grandchildren, Jadyn Roy, Jenna Roy, Joseph William Roy, John Lucas Roy, Andrew Mayer (Madison), Anna Alexys Guidry, Charlie Boudreaux, Joleigh Mistric, Jhett Mistric, Cam Mistric, Cannon Mistric, Kase Disotell, Hayden Arabie, Cruz Guidry, Chandler Guidry and Cooper Guidry. He is also survived by his children & grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 30th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, May 31st 2025 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas (2845 S Union St, Opelousas, LA 70570). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 from 3:00 PM to 3:45 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 from 3:45 PM to 4:00 PM at the Bellevue Memorial Park (4833 LA-182, Opelousas, LA 70570).
