He was predeceased by: his daughter Melinda Faye Edwards; his parents, Fulton Edwards and Sylvia Edwards; and his siblings, Danny Edwards, Robert Edwards, Kelton Edwards, Jennie Pearl Allison and Laura Dell Mickens.
He is survived by: his wife Martha Edwards of Opelousas, LA; his children, James Darrel Edwards, Jr. of Baton Rouge, LA, Travis Tyrell Edwards of Yukon, OK and Shontell Renee'Edwards of Opelousas, LA; and his sisters, Norma Edwards of Elk Grove, CA and Carla Edwards of Lafayette, LA. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
