He was predeceased by: his parents, Essie Landry and Pearl Guilbeau Landry; his nephew Glen Richard; and his brother-in-law Willard Richard. He is survived by: his sisters, Elsie Smith (Mancil) of Opelousas and Shirley Richard of Lafayette; his nieces and nephews, Kurt Smith, Dwayne Smith (Jessica), Melissa Stephens (Rudy) and Monique Simpson (Brent); and his niece-in-law Debbie Richard. He is also survived by eleven great nieces and nephews; and ten great great nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Melancon Funeral Home (289 Church St, Grand Coteau, LA 70541). A rosary was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 at 1:30 PM at the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church (174 Church St, Grand Coteau, LA 70541).
