He was predeceased by: his parents, John Collins, and Elnora Collins, Sr.; his sisters, Audrey Collins, Josephine Collins and Hilda Harris; his nephew Mike Roberts; his parents-in-law, Roy and Lucy Allen; and his siblings-in-law, Ada Mae Green, Emma Lee English, Willie Faye Wright, Woner Allen and Curry Allen.
He is survived by: his wife Lucille Collins of Houston, TX; his children, John Collins, III (Tori) of Rosharon, TX, Anita Collins of Houston, TX, Lanora Collins of Houston, TX, Lawanda Collins of Houston, TX and Melinda Collins of Dallas, TX; and his sister Geneva Solomon of Houston, TX. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
