He is survived by: his children, Mark Allen Smith of Opelousas and Diana Claire Smith of Carencro; his brothers, Harry Smith (Ethel) of Sunset, Jim Smith of Church Point, Gerald Smith (Diane) of Church Point and Douglas Smith (Josie) of Lafayette; and his grandchildren, Tyler Smith (Blaine Smith) of Opelousas and Melissa Holden Smith. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and other family members.
