He was predeceased by: his great grandchildren, Rhett Daniel Campbell and Mallory Grace Campbell; his parents, Elie Benoit and Avia Benoit; his siblings, Maurice Benoit, Charles Benoit, Charley Tribe, Martha Galland and Virginia McBride; and his son-in-law Lubert "Jimmy" Guidry.
He is survived by: his wife Melba Benoit; his children, Daniel Benoit (Rhonda) of Carencro, Elie Benoit (Candis) of Gonzales, Amanda Guidry (Glenn Venable) of Leonville, Pamela Vincent (Willie) of Arnaudville, Stacey Bonadona (John) of Port Barre and Anita Douget (Joey) of Duson; his grandchildren, Lubert Guidry II, Holly Guidry, Hunter Guidry, Brock Benoit, Blake Benoit, Desiree Perry, Braden Benoit, Maddie Benoit, Natalie Wertz, Willie Vincent, Jr., Jacob Kelsey, Caleb Kelsey, Katherine Kelsey, Ashley Douget, Joey Douget III, Lana Duvall, Cori Campbell, Codi Campbell, Chandler Douget, Aaron Benoit and Collin Benoit; and his siblings, Frederick Benoit (Betty Courville) of Leonville, Paul Benoit (Barbara) of Maurice, Patricia Meche (Herman) of Carencro and Veronica McCartney (Jerry) of San Antonio, TX.. He is also survived by twenty-two great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, April 26th 2026 at 9:00 AM. A rosary was held on Sunday, April 26th 2026 at 6:00 PM at the Melancon Funeral Home (4708 I-49 Frontage Rd, Opelousas, LA 70570). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, April 27th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the St. Leo the Great Catholic Church (126 Church Rd, Leonville, LA 70551).
