She was predeceased by: her parents, Noah Journet and Lucille Bob Journet; her daughter-in-law Cecelia Romar; her granddaughter Tyrainya Romar; her siblings, Levy Journet, Lillie Mae Adams, Mary Aline Woods and Vergie Mae Earnestine; and her siblings-in-law, Lonnie Lawson, Mitchell Romar, Phillip Romar, Robert "Jeff" Romar, Marshall Woods, Raleigh Duruisseau, Helen Romar, Betty Romar and Rose Romar.
She is survived by: her husband Leo Paul Romar; her children, Leo Loenzo Romar (Ethel), Ronald Paul Vedell (Roxanne), Gerald Christopher Romar (Juanita), James Romar (Sandra), Lonnie Gerard Romar (Chasity), Debra Romar Sostand (Larry) and Lillian Romar Albert (Howard); her brother-in-law Michael Romar; her niece Elizabeth Lamb; her sisters-in-law, Ava Marie Duruisseau, Diane Romar and Gloria Romar; her close friends, Geraldine Andrus and Barbara Joseph; her caregivers, Ethel Mae Woods Williams, Pauline Boagni and Dwanda Dabney; and her godchildren, Ethel Mae Woods Williams, Charles Lamb and Alice Adams Chretien. She is also survived by twenty-seven grandchildren, thirty-five great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Greater Shiloh Baptist Church (217 LA-10, Opelousas, LA 70570). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
