He was predeceased by: his wife Suzanne Smith; his parents, Joseph Smith and Anna Lou Laday Smith; and his brother Charles Richard. He is survived by: his siblings, Glenn Smith of Opelousas, LA, Linda Smith (Charles Anderson) of Lewisburg, LA, Carla Alexander (Warren) of Opelousas, LA and Shelia Thibodeaux (John) of Church Point, LA; and his aunts, Dorothy Babineaux of Houston, TX, Doris Laday of Houston, TX and Shirley Lavergne (Ferdinand) of Opelousas, LA.
