Raymond A. Matt Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Raymond A. Matt in Opelousas, Louisiana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 2, 2025 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Kathleen Manuel Matt; his grandchildren, Steven and Danielle; his parents, Eddie Matt and Adonia Robichaux; and his brothers, Branel "Pike" Matt and Hillard "Hick" Matt.
He is survived by: his sons, Miles Matt (Glenda), Malcolm Matt (Sherry) and Craig Matt; his grandchildren, Christopher (Stacey), Jason, Rebecca (Walker), Catherine, Johnathon (Kelley), Nicholas, Katelyn (Benjamin) and Ran Taylor; his great grandchildren, Ashley, Audrey, Jude, Edward, Oliver, Elizabeth, Estelle, James, John and Philip; his brother Herbert Matt (Lucille); and his sisters-in-law, Barbara Matt, Dolora Matt, Vercie Fontenot, Raenell Arroyave and Janice Brown. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 at 9:00 AM and at 10:00 AM. A rosary will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Melancon Funeral Home (289 Church St, Grand Coteau, LA 70541). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the St. Bridget Catholic Church (3933 LA-35, Opelousas, LA 70550).
