Ruby Mae Rubin Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Ruby Mae Rubin of Opelousas, Louisiana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 30, 2025 at the age of 71. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Morris Rubin; her parents, Frank Lastrapes, Sr. and Phyllis T. Lastrapes; her siblings, Frank Lastrapes, Jr., James Lastrapes, Georgania Lastrapes, Mary Ann Lastrapes and Betty Edwards; and her godson Simon Lastrapes.
She is survived by: her children, Quardell James Rubin (Angelica) of Opelousas, LA and Kathy Marie Young of Opelousas, LA; and her brothers, Lee Lastrapes (Annette) of Opelousas, LA. and Michael Ray Lastrapes, Sr. (Cassandra) of Opelousas, LA.. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Williams Funeral Home (817 E South St, Opelousas, LA 70570). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Union Chapel Baptist Church.
